Flux-Cored welding is a variation of MIG welding that uses a flux-cored electrode instead of a solid wire.  The flux creates a gas shield that protects the weld from contamination.  This technique is often used for welding in outdoor or windy conditions.


No matter which welding technique is used, safety is always a top priority.  Welders must wear protective clothing and equipment, including gloves, helmets, and safety glasses.  Proper ventilation is also important to prevent inhalation of fumes.
